INSTALLATION INSTRUCTION
FOR STEEL STUD FRAMING
Place notched end of Backerboard into the
open side of steel stud, inserting the stud lip
into the notch of the Backerboard .

Push Backerboard firmly against the flat
face of adjoining stud and flush with the front
surface.

Insert 2 screws through metal tabs of
installation bracket into flat face of adjoining
stud.
Pull notched end of Backerboard tight
against back side of stud lip: insert 2 screws
through the stud lip face into Backerboard .

If opening between studs is larger than
Backerboard , use the adjustable slotted
holes in the metal bracket to lengthen the
Backerboard up to / ".

SIZE MODIFICATION
If opening between studs is less then length
of backer, remove metal bracket, cut

ackerboard
to desired length, and
reinstall bracket.

Install modified B
ackerboard
into stud
opening as shown in FIGURE 3 above.

is designed for studs running
in the same direction, as shown in FIGUREA.
If Studs are not in the same direction, as in
FIGURE B, install another stud (back-to-
back) as in FIGURE C.
Modify B

for new opening.
