Establishing a Serial Connection
You can use the wireless Bluetooth serial port connection
just like you would use a physical serial cable connection.
You must configure the application that will use the connec-
tion to the correct serial port.
- Tap and hold a Bluetooth Serial Port service, then tap
Configure
- Select an available virtual serial port from COM Port list
(see figure opposite)
- To authenticate the client, check the
Authenticate check
box. When the other device connects to this service, it
must enter a passkey to establish the connection. This
step is optional.
-Tap
OK to close the configuration dialog
- Tap and hold
Bluetooth Serial Port service, then tap Connect
-Tap Auto Connect to allow devices to connect automati-
cally when Bluetooth is on.
Using Dial-Up Networking
You can use dial-up networking to connect to remote devices
that have telephone access. Such devices include cellular
phones, desktop computers or modems.
- Tap and hold a
Dial-up Connection service, then tap Config-
ure
- Select a virtual communication port from the COM Port
list (see figure opposite)
- To authenticate the client, select the
Authenticate check
box. When the other device connects to this service, it
must enter a passkey to establish the connection. This
step is optional.
-Tap
OK to close the configuration dialog
- Tap and hold
Dial-up Connection service, then tap Connect
-Tap >Settings>Network and Dial-up Connections>Make New
Connection
