SETTING UP THE PDL HIGH POWER BASE

Buttons
The O N /O F F button is used to turn the PD L H PB station on and off. Turn the unit on by pressing the
O N /O F F button and holding it until the channel displa y in dica tor is lit. T u rn off the P D L H P B by pressing
th e O N /O F F button until the display goes blank. T here is a one-second turn-off delay in the p ow er button
to prevent inadvertent tu rn off.
The C H A N N E L button is used to display and change the channel. Press the C H A N N E L button
m om entarily to display the selected channel. T o cha nge the channel, pre ss the C H AN N EL button once
to light the display, and the n again to change the channel.
U se the C H A N N E L button to select the "b" setting. W ith "b" selected, the P D L H P B w ill be placed in
A utoB ase m ode. T his m ode selects the channel for transm ission autom atically.
Display
The seven -se gm ent num eric display is used to ind icate the channel or m ode selection. To conserve
pow er, the display is only lit for a short tim e follow ing the pressing of the C H A N N E L or O N /O FF buttons.
C hannel selections ra nge from C hannel 0 to C ha nne l 15. Tw o digit channel num bers are displayed by
alternately flashing a 1 follow ed by the second dig it.
The seven -se gm ent disp lay also has a decim al point to the low er right of the num ber. The decim al point
is lit to in dica te that the channel selection w as do ne autom atically w ith A utoR over or AutoB ase.
Indicator LEDs
The pow er LE D h as tw o purposes - first, to indicate that the unit is pow ere d, and second, to indicate the
level of charge for the pow er supply. The pow er L E D w ill blink to indicate that the base station battery is
at or below 10 Volts and m ay require charging.
The am plifier pow er L E D indicates the R F pow er output level selected. W hen lit, the am plifier pow er
LE D indicates that the R F ou tput pow er is set to high. W hen blank, the am plifier po w er LE D indicates
th at the R F output pow er is set to low .
The TX LED indicates that the P D L H P B is actively transm ittin g. In m o st R TK applications, the base
station T X LE D w ill blink once per second.
