The R X LE D in dica tes that the PD L H P B is receiving an R F carrier signal. If the R X LE D is lit for
extended periods of tim e, or continuo usly, then another radio station is operating on the sam e fre quency.
This com peting R F source m ay interfere w ith the G PS R TK system , and m ay require that you cha nge
channe ls for better perform ance.
Rear Panel
Data Connector
A five-pin circula r LEM O style recepta cle accepts both program m ing and G P S m o del specific cables.
The supplied cables are labeled "R AD IO " on the end that p lugs into the base. A lign the red dot on the
plug w ith th e red dot on the receptacle and push until a clicking sound is h eard.
To rem ove the cable, g rasp the b lue cable over-m old, and retract the locking m echanism by pulling the
knurled barrel of the p lug tow a rd your pa lm .

RF Connector
A B N C jack accepts the BN C m ale plug com ing from the antenna m ount.
High/Low RF Power Switch
This toggle sw itch selects high R F pow er output in the "up" position and low R F pow er output in the
"dow n" position. S elect high R F pow er for situations w h ere long range is requ ired. For short range
applications, select low R F pow er to reduce pow er consum ption and m inim ize interference w ith
co-cha nne l users.
Enclosure
The P D L H P B enclo sure is rugged extruded alum inum w ith integrated heat sink fins. T he enclosure is
painted w ith a w eather resistant pow der coat blue paint. B lack bum pers are inte grated w ith front and
rear gaskets to pro vide sho ck p rotection a nd w atertight operation. The enclosure is not designed to
w ithstand sub m ersion and m ust not be allow ed to sit in standing w ater.
W arning: T he P D L H PB enclosure and heat sink m ay becom e very h ot during operation. T h is is
norm al depending on the am bient tem perature, R F pow er selection and transm ission d uty cycle .
T urn off the unit and allow it to cool prio r to handling.

B egin your P D L H PB station set up by screw ing the A ntenna M ount to the top of the T ripod Antenna
M ast. Y ou m ay w ant to leave the m oun t perm anently attached to the m ast and avoid this step in the
fu ture.
