Battery Care
B ase station kit shipm ents to N orth A m erica include a 33 AH r deep-discharge gel lead a cid battery. This
battery provides all day operation w ith am ple pow er for bo th the P D L a nd the G P S R T K refere nce station.
International Shipments
For shipm ents outside of N orth A m erica, w e include batte ry bag , pow er cables w ith fuse, and hardw are
fo r a user supplied battery. S elect a deep discharge battery of the type designed for golf cart or w heel
chair operation, and that has a capacity of 33 AH r or gre ater. B atteries designed for autom otive use w ill
be dam a ged by the repetitive disch arge/charg e cycles and sho uld be avo ided.
Charging
The supplied charger provides tw o-stage charging and should be connected to th e battery follow ing every
fu ll day of operation to assure good battery life and perform ance. The first stage quickly charges the
battery to capacity and the second stage trickle charges the battery to m aintain a full charge.
If the battery is m aintained in storage for an extended length of tim e, it is im portant to periodically cha rge
th e battery as extended tim e in a discharged state m ay dam age the battery.
