Exposure to Radio Frequency Energy
The PDL radio modem products are designed to comply with the
following national and international standards and guidelines
regarding exposure of human beings to radio frequency
electromagnetic energy:
FCC Report and Order FCC 96-326 (August, 1996)
American National Standards Institute (C95.3-1992)
National Council on Radiation Protection and Measurement
(NCRP - 1986)
International Commission on Non-ionizing Radiation
Protection (ICNRP - 1986)
European Committee for Electrotechnical Standardization
(CENELEC)
To assure optimal radio performance and to ensure that
exposure to RF energy is within the guidelines in the above
standards, the following operating procedures should be
observed:
DO NOT operate a transceiver when someone is within the
distance noted below of the antenna (unity gain).
For the frequency range 450-470 MHz
3 m (approx. 108 inches) for PDLHPB 0.5-35 Watt
1.5 m (approx. 54 inches) for PDLLPB 0.5-5 Watt
And for the frequency range 150-173 MHz
7 m (approx. 252 inches) for PDLHPB 0.5-35 Watt
3 m (approx. 108 inches) for PDLLPB 0.5-5 Watt
