and locked by default, which is different from a standard PC keyboard.
i. NOTE: This is different from the TSC7/Ranger 7 where Num Lock was not
turned on by default. The Shift key was used to switch between the number
functions and the cursor movement functions and locking the state with the
Num Lock button. It was activated by pressing the Fn key and the decimal (“.
Del”) at the same time.
ii. NOTE: This is different from the TSC3/Ranger 3 where the number buttons
were the same as the number keys along the top of a PC keyboard and did
not support the cursor movement functions.
b. Numeric Keypad Enter key performs the same as the numeric keyboard enter key
on a standard PC keyboard.
c. NumLock (Fn+. - Decimal). NUM pad is locked by default. To turn off NUM lock and
turn on DPAD lock, press Fn +. Keys.Use to lock the Numeric keypad in Num state, or
cursor Navigation state. In Navigation state, the keys will function according to the
key+Shift behavior (Home; End; Page up; Page Down; left, right, up, or down arrow;
Insert; and Delete.) Num Lock is on by default. When Cursor lock is on (the Numeric
keypad is locked in DPAD/Cursor lock state) the LED status icon will turn on.
i. NOTE – The "A" part of this status icon indicates if CAPS lock is on or off. See
Status icons in the taskbar.
ii. NOTE – As on a standard PC keyboard, the Shift key can be used to temporarily
invert the Num lock state.
7. Master Volume Keys (Fn+8 Volume up; Fn+5 Volume down). Use to adjust the device's
speaker volume.
8. Print Screen (Fn+0). Print all or part of the screen to the clipboard, similar to a standard PC
keyboard.
a. NOTE – Press the Windows key + Fn + 0 to save a screen capture to the My Pictures /
Screenshots folder.

10. Modifier Keys: Fn, Shift, Ctrl, Search, AGr
a. The modifier or shift keys are keys that modify the action taken when other keys are
pressed while the modifier key is held down. Modifier keys can be used in
combinations with more than one pressed at the same time. These modifier keys are
the Shift key, the Fn Key, the Ctrl (control) key, and the AGr key. To make the
keyboard easier to use the modifier keys can be configured as sticky keys. When
sticky keys are enabled the modifier keys “stick down” when pressed so that they do
not have to be held while the other key is pressed. See the Modifier keys and Sticky
keys section for more information.
11. Yellow Function Select Key (Fn). Use the Fn key to access a key's alternate function, as
printed in yellow above the key; press and hold the Fn key and press the other key.
a. If Sticky keys are enabled you do not need to hold the Fn key while pressing the
other key. For more information see Sticky Keys.
12. Caps Lock (Fn+Z) Performs the capital letters lock function.
13. Power Button. Turn the device On / Off.
14. Touchscreen Lock (Fn+1). Use to temporarily disable the touchscreen, for example to clean
the display. This is a toggle function; the first press locks the touchscreen, the second press
unlocks the touchscreen.
a. When the touchscreen is locked, a message shows briefly on the display and the
touchscreen locked icon displays on the taskbar. Note that this icon is not
