Installing and removing the SIM card

CAUTION – The plug-in SIM card and its contents can be easily damaged by scratches or
bending. Use caution when inserting or removing the card.

CAUTION – The presence of any dust or moisture in the SIM card slot may adversely affect
the device and void your Trimble warranty. To prevent dust or moisture entering the SIM
card slot:
Make certain that the SIM card slot door is attached correctly when you are using
the handheld outdoors.
When inserting or removing a SIM card, place the handheld on a dust-free indoor
surface.

CAUTION – Static electricity can harm electronic components inside the handheld. To
prevent static damage:
Discharge static electricity from your body before you touch any of the electronic
components inside your device, such as a memory module. You can do so by touching an
unpainted metal surface.
To insert a SIM card:
1. Turn off the handheld.
2. Remove the battery cover door.
3. Place the handheld face up on a dust-free
indoor surface.
4. Remove the SIM card slot door.
5. Insert the SIM card as shown, with the gold
contacts face down.
6. Reattach the SIM card slot door and replace
the battery door cover.
To remove the SIM card from the SIM card slot, gently press the card in and then let go.
The card pops out.
