IMPORTANT: READ THE OPERATOR’S MANUAL THOROUGHLY AND FOLLOW THE SAFE OPERATION PRACTICES WHILE OPERATING THE UNIT.

Set the unit on a flat, level

surface. Unscrew the oil fill

plug. Pour the entire bottle of

oil into the oil fill hole. Reinstall

the oil fill plug.

NOTE: DO NOT overfill. Never

add oil directly into the fuel

tank. DO NOT mix oil with

gasoline.

Unpacking the Unit Assembling the Unit

Remove all contents from the

carton.

Align the hole in the wheel

bracket with the desired hole

in the wheel assembly. Insert

the clevis pin through the

aligned holes. Insert the cotter

pin into the clevis pin.

Insert the wheel assembly into

the wheel bracket. The "J"

shape of the wheel assembly

should point away from the

unit.

Loosen the two handlebar

knobs. Swing the handlebars

up into the operating position.

NOTE: Do not pinch the

throttle cable or switch wires.

Tighten the two handlebar

knobs to secure the

handlebars. Readjust the

throttle cable and switch wires.

NOTE: Do not over tighten the

handlebar knobs.

Starting the Unit

Stand in starting position.

WARNING:

Tines WILL

ROTATE on START. Always stand

in starting position with foot on

wheel when starting the unit.

DO NOT squeeze the throttle

control.

Pull starter rope in controlled

motion until unit starts. Wait

60 seconds.

DO NOT Squeeze the throttle

control.

Place the unit on a level surface.

Remove the fuel cap. Fill the fuel

tank. Replace the fuel cap. Move

the unit at least 30 ft. (9.1 m)

from the fuel container and the

fueling site before starting the

engine.

NOTE: Use fresh unleaded

gasoline (less than 30 days old).

Press primer bulb 10 times,

or until fuel is visible

control for an additional 30 to

60 seconds to let the engine

warm up further. The unit may

be used during this period.

KNOW YOUR UNIT OIL AND FUEL USING THE RIGHT OIL Use a high-quality SAE 30 weight oil of API (American Petroleum Institute) service class SJ. DO NOT use dirty oil. Failure to use clean oil of the correct type can cause premature engine wear and failure. APPLICATIONS • Cultivating sod and light to medium soil • Cultivating in garden areas, around trees, etc. • Edging ADDING OIL: INITIAL USE Handlebar Throttle Control WARNING: OVERFILLING THE CRANKCASE MAY CAUSE SERIOUS PERSONAL INJURY.

STARTING AND STOPPING OPERATION WARNING: Tines WILL ROTATE when STARTING. Always stand in starting position with foot on wheel when starting the unit. WARNING: Operate this unit only in a well-ventilated outdoor area. Carbon monoxide exhaust fumes can be lethal in a confined area. WARNING: Avoid accidentally starting the unit. To avoid serious injury, the operator and OPERATING TIPS WARNING: Dress properly to reduce the risk of injury when operating this unit. Do not wear loose clothing or jewelry.

MAINTENANCE MAINTENANCE WARNING: To prevent serious injury, never perform maintenance or repairs while the unit is running. Always allow the unit to cool before servicing or repairing the unit. Disconnect the spark plug wire to prevent the unit from starting accidentally. WARNING: To avoid serious personal injury, always stop the engine and allow it to cool before cleaning or maintaining the unit. MAINTENANCE SCHEDULE Perform these required maintenance procedures at the frequency stated in the table.

MAINTENANCE TROUBLESHOOTING MAINTAINING THE SPARK PLUG 1. Stop the engine and allow it to cool. 2. Remove the 6 screws from the engine cover with a flat-head screwdriver or T-25 Torx screwdriver (Fig. 19). Remove the engine cover. 3. Grasp the spark plug boot firmly and pull it from the spark plug. 4. Clean around the spark plug. Remove the spark plug from the cylinder head with a 5/8-inch socket, turning counterclockwise. WARNING: Do not sand blast, scrape or clean spark plug electrodes.

SEGURIDAD SÍMBOLO ENSAMBLAJE SIGNIFICADO • ADVERTENCIA DE SUPERFICIE CALIENTE No toque un silenciador ni un cilindro caliente. Puede quemarse. Estas partes se calientan mucho con el uso. ARRANQUE Y PARADA OPERACIÓN ADVERTENCIA: Los dientes GIRARÁN al ARRANCAR. Para arrancar la unidad, párese siempre en la posición de arranque y ponga un pie en la rueda. MANTENIMIENTO MANTENIMIENTO ADVERTENCIA: Para evitar lesiones graves, no haga nunca ningún mantenimiento ni reparación con la unidad funcionando. Siempre deje que la unidad se enfríe antes de darle mantenimiento o repararla. Desconecte el cable de la bujía para evitar que la unidad arranque por accidente. PLAN DE MANTENIMIENTO Lleve a cabo los procedimientos necesarios de mantenimiento con la frecuencia indicada en la tabla.

MANTENIMIENTO MANTENIMIENTO DE LA BUJÍA 1. Detenga el motor y déjelo enfriar. 2. Quite los 6 tornillos de la tapa del motor con un destornillador plano o un destornillador Torx T-25 (Fig. 19). Quite la cubierta del motor. 3. Agarre firmemente la pipa (capucha) y sáquela de la bujía. 4. Limpie alrededor de la bujía. Saque la bujía de la culata girándola en sentido contrario a la agujas del reloj con una llave de bujía de 5/8 de pulgada. ADVERTENCIA: No sople, raspe ni limpie los electrodos con arena.
