NOTE: This machine is shipped WITHOUT GASOLINE
or OIL. After setting up the edger, service the engine
with gasoline and oil as instructed in the Engine
Operator’s Manual.
NOTE: Reference to right or left hand side of the
edger is observed from the operating position.
Assembly
Handle
Remove and discard any packaging cardboard that
may be present between the upper handle and the
lower handle.
1. Pivot the upper handle upward until it snaps
into place. See 1 in Figure 2-1.

2. Tighten the star knobs (a), which are located
on both the left and right sides of the handle.
See 2 in Figure 2-1.
Control Cable Z-Fitting
Unwrap the control cable from the engine and route
it under the lower handle.
1. Hook the Z end of the brake cable into
the control from the outside to inside. See
Figure 2-2.

Securing Control Cable
WARNING: The cable must be routed
properly to avoid contact with all sharp
edges and hot surfaces. Such contacts
damage the cable and render the
controls inoperative.
1. Press the stud found inside the snap fitting
into the hole found on the left side of the
upper handle, as shown in Figure 2-3.

2. Push the snap fitting down on the handle to
secure it into place.
