FRAMING THE BATH
For proper drainage and stability, your Signature bath must be level and the full bottom of the full bath be seated rmly on the sub-oor. If
the sub-oor requires leveling, measurements must be adjusted to include clearance for mortar between the oor and the bottom of the
bath. The rim of the bath will not support weight.
Three Wall Alcove Installation:
The interior of the alcove must be the same size as
the exterior dimension of the bath. Measure from
the oor and mark a stud at the correct height for
the ledger board. Mark each stud to create a level
line on all 3 walls of the alcove. Align 1 x 3” ledger
boards with the level line and screw into the studs
on all 3 alcove walls. Place a level in the center of the
ledger board on each wall and in both corners to
conrm the ledger boards are level. Build a frame of
the same height to enclose the exposed side of the
bath. *Framing must include unrestricted access to the
component side of the bath.
Platform Installation:
Build a platform with an opening 2” smaller
than the outside dimension of the bath. A large
opening reduces the risk of damage to the bath
and components when the bath is lowered into
the opening *Framing must include access to all
components
INSTALLING THE HARDWARE
Following the manufacturers instructions for each, install the drain kit, faucet and ange (each purchased separately). Signature bath
recommends that a qualied plumber install all hardware.
PREPARING THE SUB- FLOOR
To assure it drains properly and the weight is evenly distributed on the bottom, your bath must be installed on a level oor. If the oor is
level, proceed with the installation. If the oor is not level, the full bottom of the bath must be seated in mortar. Following the manufacturer’s
instructions, prepare and spread an even layer of mortar between the sub-oor and the full bottom of the bath. With the drain in the bath
aligned with the drain in the oor, being careful not to damage the bath or the components, put the bath in place. Gently shift the bath until
the bedding attens to support the full bottom of the bath and the bath lip rests on the ledger board or platform frame. Place a level from
front to back and side to side to conrm the bath is level. Do not apply weight to the rim or bottom of the bath and do not ll the bath until
the bedding has hardened completely. The enclosure can be insulated and when the bedding is dry. Keep insulation at least 8” from the
components to prevent overheating.
Deck Covering must be added into Dimension C
