Youwillneedtobuytwo1/2"BoilerDrainValveswith3/4"hoseoutletsandappropriatepipingconneconstoinstallyourMul‐
DrainWater‐TiteWashingMachineOutletBox.

Mul‐Drain Washing Machine Outlet Box Instrucons
1.Readallinstruconscarefullypriortoinstallaon;removeallpartsfrombag.Turnoff
anddrainwatersupplytoanyinvolved
piping.
2.Usingahammerandscrewdriver,carefullyremovetheappropriateknockoutstolineupwiththesupplylines.
3.Aerdeterminingvalveanddrainconfiguraon,installboilerdrainvalves:
a) Ifyouareusingsweatsolderedconnecons,soldera
three‐inchlengthofcopperpipetotheboilerdrainvalvebeforeinstalling
itinthebox.Donotsoldertotheboilerdrainvalvewhileitisinstalled.Theheatmaymeltthebox.Putboilerdrainvalve
threadsthroughtheknockoutandthreadthelocknutonto
theboilerdrainfromtheothersideofthebox(figure1).
b) Alignboilerdrainsothatthe3/4"hoseconneconoutletpointsoutofthebox.Tightenlockingnutsecurely.
c) Repeatforsecondvalve.
4.Insertthetwo(2)mounngbracketsintotheslotson
thesideofbox(figure1).
5.Nailorscrewthemounngbracketstothewallstuds(figure2),makingsurethattheoutletboxislocatedabovethewaterlevel
ofthewasher(approx.42"fromfloorlevel).
6.Installboxtodrainline:
a) Before
cemenngdrainlineintowasherboxcoupling,removedrainlocatortapeandplaceontopofknock‐outtestcap(inside
box),overthecouplingbeingplumbed.
b) Solventweld2"DWVpipetodesireddrainopening(figure2).UsePVCsolventcementforPVCdrainpipeand
ABSsolventce‐
mentforABSdrainpipe.
c) Cementcouplingplugintounplumbeddraincoupling.(Thisprecauonarystepmaybeeliminatedifdrainlineistestedand
inspectedforleaks,andtestcapoverplumbeddraincouplingisknockedout,PRIORTOHANGINGSHEETROCK.ITCANALSOBE
ELIMINATED
IFVALVESAREINSTALLEDINTOPMOUNTPOSITION.Fortop‐mountedvalves,simplyinvertboxwithvalvesposi‐
onedontop.)
7.Testdrainagesystemtoensurenowaterleaksarepresent.Whentestiscomplete,carefullyknockoutthetestcapusingaham‐
merandscrewdriver(figure
3).
8.Connectwatersupplylinestoboilerdrainvalves.
9.Secureorbracesupplylinesintoplacetopreventmovement.
10.Whenwallsurfaceisfinished,snapfaceplateintoplace.Securethedrainhoseintothedrainlineofwasherboxandaachhot
andcoldwashingmachine
hoses(soldseparately)totherespecvevalves.
11.Whenreadyforuse,turnonthewatersupply.Checkforhoseleaksatvalve.
12.Toensureagainstpossiblefuturehosefailure,watersupplyshouldalwaysbeshutoffwhennotinuse.

Important: Do not solder copper to boiler drain while drain is installed in box. Heat will melt the box.
Also check local building codes for proper installaon.
