4-4 Sediment Cup Cleaning
WARNING GASOLINE IS EXTREMELY FLAMMABLE AND IS EXPLOSIVE UNDER CERTAIN
CONDITIONS. DO NOT SMOKE OR ALLOW FLAMES OR SPARKS IN THE AREA.
WARNING: AFTER INSTALLING THE SEDIMENT CUP, CHECK FOR LEAKS, AND MAKE SURE
THE AREA IS FREE OF RESIDUAL FUEL SPILLS OR SEEPAGE BEFORE STARTING
THE ENGINE.
(1) Turn the fuel valve to OFF.
(2) Remove (turn clockwise) the sediment cup and O-ring. Wash both parts in nonflammable or
high flash point solvent.
(3) Wipe the sediment cup and O-ring dry, then reinstall.
(4) Set the fuel shutoff valve (Figure 4-3) to ON. Check for leaks.
