Turf-Tec Digital Thermometer Centigrade/Fahrenheit Model DT1-S f/c Instructions FEATURES This specially designed instrument for turfgrass areas has many patented features. It can stand upright when inserted into the turf for accurate readings. The foot plate and depth adjustment tube is a quick, one hand adjusting assembly. The height of the Turf-Tec Digital Thermometer read out scale s three feet above the turf for easy reading.

Take the air temperature about three feet above the turf and take a note of this. Next take three temperature readings in the turf. FIRST: Take a reading at the one inch level. (Usually in the thatch.) SECOND: Take your next reading at the two inch level. THIRD: The final reading should be taken at the three inch level. Take temperatures at midday when solar radiation is most intense. Learn to correlate all three readings. If air and soil temperature is high syringing should be done immediately.

Caution: If soil is hard and dry, frozen, or if rocks are present do not force probe into the ground. Pre-made holes under these conditions may be made with an ice pick or other suitable tool. Always make sure the soil probe is a clean. Always store in a dry place with the switch in an off position. Mode Options When the instrument is initially turnd on, the Primary screen displays Ti. The following table lists the modes of operation that can be invoked by pressing the buttons indicated.
