Plug Popper - Instructions
(Use Caution—Sharp Point)
Unpack the handle and the tip. Place the plate at the top of the sampling tube against the bottom of
the stirrup. Insert bolts from the bottom up so the bolt heads will be facing down when assembled.
Bolt the sampling tube to the bottom of the stirrup with the bolts included.
The Plug Popper is ready to go.
USE
(Use Caution—Sharp Point—Avoid pinching)
After assembly, place the tip against the top of the soil. Place one foot into the stirrup. Gently apply
pressure, pushing the tip into the soil. Withdraw the Plug Popper from the soil. Grasp the collar of
the Piston (careful to avoid pinching) and push the piston forward to the tip. The soil sample will
POP out. In wet, sticky soils a little extra effort may be required—but the piston peg will give you
leverage if you work it.
CONGRATULATIONS
You have taken a great core sample easily and without breaking your back.
