There’s plenty of information (and misinformation) oating around
as it relates to weather-resistant barriers. As you can guess, TYPAR’s
leading competitors make a lot of claims as to the superiority of
their product, but their claims are simply misleading.
TYPAR is a polypropylene nonwoven breathable weather
membrane. Its technologically-advanced design reduces the risk of
moisture damage in the wall cavity unlike any other product on the
market, and the facts support it.
• TYPAR delivers the best balance of water holdout and
breathability.
• TYPAR’s tear strength is 4 times that of Tyvek’s.
• Tyvek has poor surfactant resistance. TYPAR holds up better over
time.
• TYPAR’s UV exposure rating is 50% longer than Tyvek’s.

warranty for details). If a problem is going to occur, it’s more likely
going to happen a few years after construction is complete. The 10-
year warranty keeps you covered so you don’t incur any additional
material or installation costs down the road.
