Hardware Overview Back Panel PoE In + Data PoE In + Data 10/100/1000 Ethernet port supports data and 802.3at PoE+ input. Connect this port to a UniFi Switch with PoE that is connected to your LAN and DHCP server. Bottom Panel PoE Out + Data Reset Data PoE Out + Data 10/100/1000 Ethernet port supports data and PoE passthrough. Used to power and connect an 802.3af device to the LAN. LED LED Color State Status Flashing Initializing. White Steady Factory defaults, waiting for integration. White/ Blue Alternating Device is busy; do not touch or unplug it. This usually indicates that a process such as a firmware upgrade is taking place. Steady Successfully integrated into a network and working properly. Flashing This is used to locate a device. Blue When you click Locate in the UniFi Controller software, the LED will flash blue.
Back Plate The Back Plate offers a variety of mounting holes for use with different wall boxes.
Hardware Installation An electrical wall box should be pre-installed with an Ethernet cable running from the box to a UniFi Switch with PoE. 1. Detach the Cover Plate from the UAP-AC-IW. 2. Detach the UAP-AC-IW from the Back Plate.
3. Pull the Ethernet cable through the Back Plate, and attach the Back Plate to the wall box using the Wall‑Mount Screws. Note: Do not over-tighten the screws. 4. Connect the Ethernet cable in the wall box to the port labeled PoE IN + DATA.
5. Attach the UAP-AC-IW to the Back Plate using the two Security Torx or Phillips Screws.
6. Attach the Cover Plate. Press the Cover Plate into position until the six mounting clips snap into place.
Software Installation Download and install the latest version of the UniFi Controller software at: download.ubnt.com/unifi Launch the software and follow the on-screen instructions. Step-by-step instructions are available in the User Guide located on our website: documentation.ubnt.com/unifi After you have installed the software and run the UniFi Installation Wizard, a login screen will appear for the UniFi Controller management interface. Enter the Admin Name and Password that you created and click Log In.
