Hardware Installation
An electrical wall box should be pre-installed with an Ethernet
cable running from the box to an 802.3af switch.
1. Detach the Cover Plate from the UAP-IW.
2. Connect the Ethernet cable in the wall box to the port
labeled PoE IN + DATA.

640-00195-01
3. Place the UAP-IW in the wall box and properly position the
cable to ensure the Ethernet connection is not strained.
Note: If the wall box does not have enough room
to accommodate the UAP-IW without straining the
Ethernet connection, replace the wall box with an
open-end or deeper box.
4. Fasten the top and bottom screws. Adjust the screws to
ensure the mounting plate is flush with the wall for proper
fitting of the Cover Plate.
Note: Do not over-tighten or rely on the force of the
screws to pull the UAP-IW into the wall box.
5. Attach the Cover Plate. Press the Cover Plate into position
until the four mounting clips snap into place. If you are
using your own cover plate, secure it with two screws.
