INSTRUCTIONS FOR USE
Place the thermometer and press the on-/off-button. After an acoustic signal, all
symbols show on the display for a few seconds as a means of checking that the
thermometer is functioning correctly. After an acoustic signal the last correctly
measured temperature value is displayed indicated by the „M” symbol in the bottom
right corner. Subsequently the device indicates an internal test value of 37°C
±0.02°C. After this the device is ready for measurement.
During the measurement the current temperature is shown indicated by a flashing
„°C”. When the acoustic signal sounds and the „°C” stops flashing then the
temperature increase is less than 0.1°C in between 16 seconds. This means the
nearly final temperature if you use the oral or rectal measurement method. The
temperature then changes only minimal. With the axillary method you have to keep
the specified time of measurement and the acoustic signal can then sound several
times.
The measured value remains visible for approx. 8-10 minutes.
After that the device switches off itself automatically.
To save battery energy switch off the thermometer after use.
The previously measured temperature value remains stored in any case until the next
measurement.
MEASUREMENT METHODS
Oral measurement (in the mouth)
Be sure to position the sensor tip under the tongue. This measurement takes approx.
1 minute.
Rectal measurement (in the anus)
Gently insert the sensor tip 1-2 cm into the anus. This measurement takes approx. 30
seconds.
Axillary measurement (under the arm)
Insert the sensor tip under the arm pit so that the sensor tip is in close contact with
the skin. This measurement takes approx. 5-10 minutes.
From the medical point of view this method always provides inaccurate values. And
so it is unsuitable for accurate measuring.
