INTRODUCTION






NOTE: Because S&S carburetors are signicantly larger than OEM units, unmodied, small displacement engines such as 883 and ironhead Sportster
models may experience sluggish low speed response when equipped with S&S carburetors. This can often be minimized with careful tuning.

CHROME PLATING THE CARBURETOR
NOTE: S&S does not recommend chrome plating the Super E or G carburetor. Preparation requires polishing with abrasive bung compounds. These
materials invariably plug air and/or fuel passages and other orices regardless of precautions taken.
The chrome plating process can alter critical operating tolerances in several areas. Additionally, chrome may obstruct fuel passages,
possibly altering the fuel mixture and causing engine damage. All manufacturer warranties become void if any part of the carburetor is
polished, chrome plated or otherwise altered.
