an Extension Repeater. Typically, a Line Repeater is installed
between an Office Repeater and an NIU (see Figure 4 and
Figure 5). An Extension Repeater is installed behind the NIU
(see Figure 6).
2.3 NIU Application
As an NIU, the 520-10SWI3 terminates DS1 services at the Cus-
tomer Premises for maintenance and transmission conditioning.
The 520-10SWI3 is installed to provide the demarcation point
between the Network Service Provider and the Customer Prem-
ises. See Figure 2 through Figure 7.
2.4 Power
Input power options are dependent on the operational mode
of the unit. The 520-10SWI3 has different input power options
when operating as an Office Repeater, as a Line or Extension
Repeater or as an NIU.
