Table 4-1 maps the device pins to the physical sensors on the kit.
4.3.2 PSoC 5LP
An onboard PSoC 5LP is used as a USB-I
2
C bridge for communicating with the PC host. It also sets
the operating voltage applied to the target device. The MBR3 device can be operated at either 5.0 V,
3.3 V, and 1.8 V. By default, the onboard PSoC 5LP USB-I
2
C bridge sets 3.3 V as operating voltage
for the MBR3 device. The PSoC 5LP connects to the USB port of the PC through a USB Mini-B con-
nector and to the I
2
C interface of the CY8CMBR3116 device.
PSoC 5LP is a true system-level solution, providing an MCU, memory, analog, and digital peripheral
functions in a single chip. The CY8C58LPxx family offers a modern method of signal acquisition, sig-
nal processing, and control with high accuracy, high bandwidth, and high flexibility. Analog capability
spans the range from thermocouples (near DC voltages) to ultrasonic signals. For more information,
refer to the PSoC 5LP web page and datasheet.
