WOOD PREP Surface must be free of sealers, stains, & conditioners
before staining. Prepare wood for staining by sanding with 80 grit
sandpaper with the grain.
PRODUCT PREP MIX STAIN WELL before and during use to ensure
settled materials are re-dispersed. Do not thin. First, TEST an
INCONSPICUOUS SWATCH. For best results, store and use only
when temperature is between 60-90°F (16-32°C) and relative
humidity is below 85%. Do not store in metal containers.
COVERAGE 1 gallon treats 325 sq. ft. of smooth wood.
APPLICATION Use a foam roller, rag, brush, or paint sprayer to
apply one liberal coat of stain in the direction of the grain. Wood
will absorb stain and each species will turn its own darkest color.

DRYIN G TIM E Allow wood to dry 60 minutes. Longer dry times
for damp / humid climates, rough sawn & soft woods.
CLEAN UP Easy soap and water clean up.
FIN ISHES After a minimum of 1 hour apply your favorite
Weatherwash topcoat per the directions on the can.
CAUTION S Do not take internally. Keep out of reach of children.

wood in minutes. Woods that are high in tannic acid
will yield a lightly aged look in minutes instead of
centuries. Color results depend on wood species and
will create a natural-looking result without compromising
the grain. Weatherwash MIST can be top-coated
and will maintain color consistency.

WEATHERWASH’S “PINED” PRODUCT OVERVIEW
WOOD PREP Sand wood with the grain. Do not apply pretreaters.
PRODUCT PREP Mix stain well before and during use to ensure
settled materials are re-dispersed. Do not thin. First, test and
inconspicuous swatch. For best results, store and use only when
temperature is between 60-90°F (16-32°C) and relative humidity is
below 85%. Do not store in metal containers
COVERAGE 1 Gallon treats 400 sq. ft. of smooth wood.
APPLICATION Use a foam roller, brush or paint sprayer to apply
one liberal coat of stain in the direction of the grain. Wood will
absorb stain. Each species will turns its own darkest color. For
exteriors, stain may be applied on site but avoid contact with
concrete or siding.
For darker results, multiple coats may be applied.
DRYING TIME Allow wood to dry 60 minutes. Longer dry times for
damp/humid climates, rough sawn & soft woods.
CLEAN UP Easy soap and water clean up.

Why waste hours applying primers, paints, and glazes when you can age wood in minutes?
Pined is a tannin-based, reactive stain, that naturally ages wood. It is suitable for nearly all wood
types and yields light weathered grays in minutes, instead of centuries. Low tannin woods will
lightly weather, higher tannin woods will turn a medium-dark gray. Unlike pigment based stains,
latex paints, or oil-based stains. Pined won’t compromise the wood’s grain. Color results depend
on wood specie is and will create a natural-looking result from plank to plank. Stain can be top
coated to maintain color consistency.
AGE INDEX Weather low tannin wood into light weathered gray. Higher tannin wood, medium to
dark gray.
SPECIES Ages low tannin woods like pine, poplar, spruce, white fir and pallet wood.
