Preparations for Installation
Please note:
The product may only be installed by a qualified technician (e.g. electrician)
who is familiar with the relevant regulations (e.g. VDE, German electrical
wiring regulations)!
The product may be installed and operated in both indoor and outdoor areas; the product is
intended for installation on a wall. Do not use the product in or under water, there is a danger
of a fatal electric shock!
Protect the light from salt water (e.g. de-icing salt in the winter) since it may lead to corrosion.
Make sure you install the light on a solid base (e.g. brickwork).
Use a suitable mains cable for the connection, which is laid and fitted into the brickwork.
The light must be protected on the distribution board, provided by the user, by a 10/16A fuse.
An earth leakage circuit breaker must be installed before this (FI protective switch).
The light must be voltage-free during installation. It is not sufficient to just turn off at the light
switch!
Turn the power off, and remove the electric circuit fuse or switch off at the circuit breaker.
Secure it against an unauthorised re-start, e.g. with a danger sign. Furthermore, turn off the
earth leakage circuit breaker in order to disconnect from all the poles of the mains supply.
Check that the mains cable is free of current e.g. with an appropriate tester.
Installation/Connection
Read the information in chapter „Preparations for Installation“ prior to instal-
lation and connection!
The light is designed to be used with the light pointing downwards.
If the light is mounted so that the light points upwards, water may accumulate on
the glass covering the light opening, depending on the design.
Due to the evaporation of the water caused by the increased heat, dust and dirt will
accumulate on the light cover over time, which will lead to an impairment in the light
emitted.
If you want the light to point upwards, we recommend you use an installation area
that is protected from precipitation or that you clean the light cover frequently.
Open the light by removing the wall bracket. To do this, unscrew the grubscrews on the round
housing slightly, using a suitable hexagon spanner.
Mark the positions to drill the holes on the wall using the openings of the wall bracket as tem-
plate.
Depending on the subsurface, appropriate screws/wall plugs must be used when installing the
wall bracket.
