Intended use
The product is used for position determination and navigation via GPS.
In addition, a pedometer (step counter) is integrated along with many other functions (e.g.
barometer, weather station, level, etc.)
Additionally, the time and date can also be displayed.
The reading and interpretation of data is done via the enclosed “CanWay Data Logger” soft-
ware. In addition, the “CanWay Planner” software is included for creating routes or way-points.
Read these operating instructions completely and carefully as they contain very important infor-
mation about conguration, operation and handling. Observe all safety instructions!

The following hazard information and safety instructions are intended not only to
protect your health but also to protect your device. Please read the following points
carefully:
The unauthorised conversion and/or modication of the product is not allowed
because of safety reasons.
The product is not a toy and it should be kept out of the reach of children!
Do not expose the product to high temperatures, strong vibrations or heavy me-
chanical loads.
Handle the product with care, it can be damaged by knocks, blows, or accidental
falls, even from a low height.
Do not leave packaging material carelessly lying around, since it could become a
dangerous plaything for children.

Notes on rechargeable batteries
Keep rechargeable batteries out of the reach of children.
Do not leave the batteries lying around in the open; there is a risk of them being swallowed
by children or domestic animals. If they are swallowed, consult a doctor immediately.
Liquids leaking from rechargeable batteries are very chemically aggressive. Objects or sur-
faces coming into contact with these liquids might be considerably damaged. Thus, store
batteries/rechargeable batteries in a suitable location.
If your skin comes into contact with leaking or damaged batteries, you may suffer burns. For
this reason you should use suitable protective gloves in this case.
Batteries/rechargeable batteries must not be short-circuited, opened or thrown into a re.
There is a risk of explosion!
For charging the internal battery, use only the supplied USB cable and a USB power adapter
with the output voltage 5 V/DC or a USB port of a computer.
General information
The product, as well as the enclosed software, are very extensive. Therefore, the following
documents are found on the enclosed CD:

Operating instructions for the enclosed software

Recharging the Battery
Before using the product for the rst time, fully charge the battery. This takes approx.
2 hours.
To charge the battery, proceed as follows:
Insert the included USB connection cable into the USB port of the device. This is located on
the left side under the rubber cover.
Connect the other end of the USB cable to an available USB port of your computer or a USB
power adapter (output voltage 5 V/DC).
During charging, the blue LED located behind the two buttons lights up. In addition, in the
battery icon, at the top right of the display, a lightning symbol appears.
When the battery is fully charged, the blue LED behind the buttons turns off and “100” will be
displayed in the battery icon.
Operation
Activating the time and date display:
The GPS device has a time and date display. To activate this, when the unit is turned off,
press the right button briey.
If you now press the right button again, the display illumination is turned on.
Turning the device on:
To completely turn the device on, when the device is switched off, rst briey press the right
button to activate the time and date display.
Then press the right button again and hold it for about 2 to 3 seconds until the menu is dis-
played.
Operating the Menu:
With the right button you can navigate right through the menu.
With the left button you can navigate left through the menu.
If you want to open a menu item, navigate to the item and hold the right button for about 2 to
3 seconds until the desired item is displayed.
If you have selected a menu item and now want to go back, hold the left button for about 2 to
3 seconds to return to the menu previously displayed.
Switching the device off:
In the main menu, the backlight will turn off automatically after about 10 seconds. After an-
other 30 seconds, the device switches off and the time and date will be displayed.
If the time and date display is active, the device will automatically switch off after 10 seconds.
If you have accessed a menu item, the device does not turn off automatically. Only the back-
light will turn off after 10 seconds. To activate this, simply press a button briey.
To turn off the device manually, press both buttons simultaneously until the display turns off.
It will then briey display the time. Then the device will turn off.

detailed manufacturer’s instructions on the CD.
