Section 4. First-Aid Measures
Inhalation: Remove to fresh air. If irritation occurs or breathing is difficult, get medical attention.
Skin contact: Remove contaminated clothing. Wash skin with soap and water. Remove contaminated clothing
and launder before reuse. Get medical attention if irritation or symptoms develop.
Eye contact: Immediately flush eyes with water for at least 15 minutes while lifting the upper and lower lids.
Get immediate medical attention.
Ingestion: Rinse mouth with water. Do not induce vomiting unless directed to do so by medical personnel.
Never give anything by mouth to a person who is unconscious or convulsing. Get medical attention.
Most important symptoms/effects, acute and delayed: Causes severe eye irritation or burns with possible
damage. Skin contact may cause irritation. Mists or aerosols may cause irritation to mucous membranes and
respiratory tract. Swallowing may cause gastrointestinal irritation, nausea, vomiting and diarrhea.
Indication of immediate medical attention and special treatment, if necessary: If eye contact occurs, get
immediate medical attention
Section 5. Fire-Fighting Measures
Suitable (and unsuitable) extinguishing media: Use any media that is suitable for the surrounding fire.
Specific hazards arising from the chemical: Combustion may produce ammonia and oxides of carbon,
nitrogen and sulfur.
Special protective equipment and precautions for fire-fighters: Firefighters should wear full emergency
equipment and NIOSH approved positive pressure self-contained breathing apparatus. Cool fire exposure
containers with water.
Section 6. Accidental Release Measures
Personal precautions, protective equipment, and emergency procedures: Wear appropriate protective
clothing and equipment to prevent eye and skin contact.
Environmental precautions: Avoid release to the environment. Report spill as required by local and federal
regulations.
Methods and materials for containment and cleaning up: Collect with an inert absorbent and place into an
appropriate container for disposal. Wash spill site with water.
