4.8.12. Insert adjustable elbows into the open ramp handrail, the Bolt-On Stub Rail and the open
ends of the welded handrail extension (FIG. 4.19).
4.8.13. Align the adjustable elbows and measure and cut the 1-1/2” diameter handrail tubes
connecting the ramp handrail and Bolt-On Stub Rail to the handrail extension. Measure
both upper and lower gaps because they could be different and cut tubes accordingly.
The procedure for installing the 1-1/2” diameter handrail tubes and adjustable elbows is
the same as the installing the closure top rail, refer ‘CLOSURES’ section.
4.8.14. FIG. 4.19 shows the completed connection.
4.8.15. Make sure all fasteners on both sides are tightened securely.
