4.2 Cleaning and Replacing Quartz Sleeve
Note: Minerals in the water slowly form a coating on the lamp sleeve. This coating must be removed because it reduces the
amount of UV light reaching the water, thereby reducing disinfection performance. If the sleeve can not be cleaned, it must
be replaced.
Prerequisites:
• Shut off water supply and drain all lines.
• Depressurize the unit. Place a small pail under the unit to catch any spills.
• Remove the UV lamp. Refer to Section 4.1.

• Insert new lamp into the
quartz sleeve and thread into
sleeve bolt until hard stop.

• Connect the green ground
wire and red strain relief wire
to the chamber using the
grounding screw.

• Align connection pins with
the lamp connector by
rotating the ring clamp.
• Push the lamp connector
down onto the lamp pins and
the ring clamp pins until an
audible click is heard.
Note: Ensure the connector
is engaged on both sides.

• Restore power.
• If new lamp was inserted,
press and hold lamp timer
reset button for 5 seconds.
Display should read .
• Open all faucets and turn on
water supply. Inspect for any
leaks.

• Unscrew the sleeve bolt and
carefully remove it from the
top of the chamber.
Note: Sleeve may be
attached to sleeve bolt. Hold
sleeve with other hand while
removing sleeve bolt.

Mild
Acid
• Clean the quartz sleeve with
a cloth soaked in CLR,
vinegar or some other mild
acid and then rinse with
water.
Note: If sleeve cannot be
cleaned completely or it is
scratched or cracked, then
replace the sleeve.

• Place O-ring on the sleeve as
shown. Insert the sleeve into
the chamber as shown in
step 4.

• Ensure quartz sleeve is
properly centered in the
chamber.

3.1 Instalación del sistema UV
El sistema de desinfección está diseñado para montarse en posición horizontal o vertical en el punto de uso o punto de
entrada en función del caudal específico de la unidad.
En la instalación horizontal de la cámara, la lumbrera de salida debe orientarse hacia arriba para garantizar la plena purga
de todo el aire contenido en la cámara.
Nota: La instalación ideal es la vertical con el conector de la lámpara arriba. Así se evita que el agua dañe las clavijas y el
conector de la lámpara.
Requisitos previos:
• Determinar la ubicación interior adecuada del controlador y la cámara; consultar la Sección 2.1.
• El controlador se debe instalar a una altura mayor que la de la cámara y alejado de las fuentes de agua.
• Asegurarse de que haya una distancia suficiente sobre la cámara como para permitir la extracción de la lámpara y la
vaina tubular.
• Asegurarse de cortar la fuente de agua principal.

• Fije las abrazaderas de la
cámara a la pared (se

abrazaderas.
• Realice todas las conexiones
de fontanería necesarias.

montaje del controlador a la
pared mediante tornillos n.º 8
(no suministrados).

montaje.
