1.0 Conditioning the Filter Element
Extreme cleanliness is important. Wear rubber gloves
or wash hands thoroughly before and after handling
the product
General removal and re-installation of the filter element is carried
out as follows: (for full detailed instructions see the installation
instructions supplied with the filter system)
With the water supply turned off; vent any pressure by opening
the user tap
Unscrew the filter body - care must be taken as it will be full of
water
The filter element can now be removed and be replaced or
cleaned as per instructions in section 4.0
To replace the filter element ensure that all seals are positioned
and seals are made
The body can now be screwed into the head.
Hand tighten only
2.0 Conditioning the Filter Element
In order to remove any loose particles resulting from the
manufacturing process, it is recommended that the first supply of
filtered water should be run to waste for 10 minutes or 15 litres
For a new filter element, the maximum flow rate will be achieved
once the ceramic filter has become fully saturated, to allow the
filter element to be conditioned to the source water allow the
unit to stand for 24 hours and then flush for a further 10 mins
to waste
The filter is now ready for use
3.0 General Use
The recommended flow rate should be used to give optimum
performance. If the filter has been standing unused for 24 hours,
two litres of water should be run to waste to ensure that the
water is “fresh”
4.0 Cleaning the Filter Element
Due to filtration of particulate contaminants from the water during
use, the flow of the water from the filter may reduce over a
period of time, depending on the quality of the water.
To restore the water flow to its normal level, simply clean the filter
element as follows:
Remove the filter element in accordance with the filter system
assembly instructions
Hold the filter element in a bowl of water or under running water.
To avoid contamination of the open ended plastic threaded
mount, take care to ensure that the mount is always clear of the
water
NEVER use soap or detergent
Take a soft bristle brush or lightly abrasive pad and cup it around
the circumference of the filter element
Apply a gentle pressure with the brush or pad and slowly work
down the length of the filter element once, ensuring the cleaning
is even over the whole filter element surface
Replace the filter element in accordance with the filter system
assembly instructions
The filter is now ready for use
