3. VOICE CALLS
3.1.1 To Make a Call
3.1 MAKING CALLS
1. The radio can be programmed to enable All Call, Group Call, and Private
Call.
a. All Call: Talk with everybody in the same channel.
b. Group Call: Talk with a group in the same channel.
c. Private Call: Talk to an individual device.
2. Make a Call Directly
Press and hold PTT Button in Standby mode,
U3 transmit a All call or a group call according the
channel setting.
3. Make a All Call
a. Select “All” on the Contacts menu.
b. Press and hold the PTT Button to transmit a call.
c. Release PTT Button to stop
transmitting.
4. Make a Group Call or Private Call
a. Select “Group” or a contact name
from the Contacts menu. For detailed
informationm, please refer to section 3.1.2 Selecting a Contact.
b. Press and hold the PTT Button to transmit
a call.
Use this function to communicate with other radios or Console by transmitting
or receiving voice calls. The display shows the contact information when
communicating. The contact list is made and programmed to radios by using
the PPS software.
PTT
U3 displays “Channel Busy” when the channel is under using.
To transmit encrypted calls, please set secure channel by PPS software
and set Encryption key by Encryption Utility software. All radios
communicating in the secure channel must be set with same Encryption
key.
Note
