installing batteries

To inta ll the b atte ry p ack, turn yo ur radio off, re m o ve the
batte ry com p artm e nt cove r, a nd install the batte ry pack
acco rding to the lab el. The n, re place the co ver.
Dispose of old batteries promptly and properly. Do not burn or bury them.
Use only fresh batteries of the required size and recommended type. Do not
mix batteries of different sizes or chemistries.
If you do not plan to use your radio for a month or more, remove the
batteries. Batteries can leak chemicals that can damage electronic parts.

do wn CALL.

pre ss and ho ld the volum e up bu tton while turn ing on the radio. To de activate the

To select a channel and quiet code:
1. Press CH/ TONE. The ch an ne l num ber as hes.
2. Press
o r to s e lect a channel (1—22).
3. Press CH/ TONE a gain. The qu iet co d e num ber ashe s .
4. Press
o r to s e lect a quiet co d e (OFF o r 1—99).
Quiet codes 1—38 are Continuous Tone Control Squelch (CTCSS)
and 39—99 are Digital Coded Squelch (DCS). These codes limit
authorized users and reduce interference.
Code oF (OFF) indicates that you have no quiet code selected and
your radio can receive a signal regardless of other radio settings.
