TIP: If your telephone outlet isn’t modular, contact your telephone company for assistance. Modular D. Choose the dialing mode Most phone systems use tone dialing which sends DTMF tones through the phone lines. However some phone systems still use pulse dialing such as in rural areas. The default setting is tone dialing.

Below is the terminology explanation. • Talk Mode - The handset is off the base and the talk key has been pressed, enabling a dial tone. • Standby Mode - The handset may be sitting in or off the base, but is NOT in use. The talk key has not been pressed and there is no dial tone.
EXP971 9/10/03 5:52 PM Page 6 Find Handset To locate the handset (while it’s off the base), press the find hs key on the base. The handset beeps for 60 seconds. Paging is canceled when pressing any handset key, the find hs key on the base or the handset is returned to the base. NOTE: Paging is also canceled when the phone receives an incoming call.

It is used to dial the phone number stored in the one-touch RocketDial location (See “Storing a Phone Number in Memory Dial”). To instantly dial the phone number stored in the one-touch RocketDial location, simply press the RocketDial key in standby mode. (There is no need to press the talk key. The phone will automatically dial).

Servicing must be performed by qualified personnel. Symptom The charge/in use LED won’t illuminate when the handset is placed in the base. The audio sounds weak and/or scratchy. Can’t make or receive calls. The handset doesn’t ring or receive a page.
