Installing the Antenna
To install the antenna, align
it with the antenna
connector on the top of the
radio and turn it clockwise
until it seats snugly against
the radio.
Attaching the Belt Clip
Attach the supplied belt clip as shown.

2. A/B Key Selection - Either or both of the A and B
keys may be programmed for Home Channel
selection. Press the programmed key
A
or
B
to instantly select the programmed Home Channel.
3. Direct Channel Selection - The numeric keypad
0-9 keys may be used to directly select the desired
channel. Press one or two digits and the Channel
Up key (s) to select a channel. For example, press

PQRS
s to select channel 47. If ▲ is not pressed
within 5 seconds after pressing the digit keys, the
entered digits will be ignored. During the 5 second
period, the ▼ key may be used to clear the entered
digits from the display.
Receive
When a call is received,
the TransmiVReceive
Indicator blinks RED. If
the signal is coded with
CTCSS, DCS, or 2-Tone
Code, the CALL indicator
appears on the LCD.
Channel Scan
In the scan mode, the radio alternately monitors each
channel until it receives a call. You can scan all
channels in the programmed scan list, or you can
modify the scan list by locking out individual channels
from being scanned.
1. Press
SCAN
to begin
scanning. The LCD SC
indicator begins to flash.
2. The radio stops on any channel that receives a
call, the LCD SC indicator is displayed
continuously and you hear the caller. When the
transmission stops, the radio resumes scanning
after a brief delay.
3. To disable scanning, press
SCAN
Dual Watch
If your radio has been programmed for Priority Channel
operation, the radio will sample the Priority Channel
between any other receiving channel during Scan Mode.
This is usually the channel you use for most of your
communications. (Depending on programming, the
Priority Channel may be pre-programmed or it may be
the channel you select during scan.)
During scan the LCD PRI
indicator will be displayed
continuously when the
Priority Channel is being received.
