1 Determining Your Build Out Area Inspect Your Entryway for Obstructions Check for any obstructions above and around your entryway that may prevent the outward swing of your new security doors and/or their installation, such as:  Light fixtures  Door bell  Low overhang Surface Mount  Door handle of your existing entry door Brick Molding (Top View)  Trees, bushes or hanging plants Entry Door Stud Entry Door Jamb Stud 2 Determine Type and Readiness of Mounting Surface Brick molding trim Equal

4 Installing the Inactive-side Jamb Important: The jamb must be positioned to allow secure mounting to your trim framing around the opening. Make certain the jamb assembly is plumb, and mark the location of the mounting holes with a pencil. Set the jamb aside and, where marked, pre-drill 1/8" holes. Push jamb up into corner tight against the top jamb. Hold the hinge-side jamb in place, making sure the hinge pins face up and the top end of the jamb is butted up against the top jamb.

6 Installing the Active-side Jamb Important: All jambs must be positioned to allow secure mounting to your trim framing around the opening. Make certain the jamb assembly is plumb, and mark the location of the mounting holes with a pencil. Set the jamb aside and, where marked, pre-drill 1/8" holes. Hold the hinge-side jamb in place, making sure the hinge pins face up and the top end of the jamb is butted up against the top jamb.

9 Installing the Bug Sweeps Push the sweep in place on the bottom edge of the security door and adjust it so that the rubber bug sweep on the bottom lightly touches the threshold. You may need to tap the sweep in place using a wood block. Pre-drill with 1/8" drill bit and secure the sweep in place using 2 of the #8 x 5/8" self-tapping screws provided. Be sure to keep your drill on a low speed so that the threads do not strip. Repeat on second door.

4 Cómo Instalar la Jamba del Lado Inactivo Importante: La jamba debe instalarse de manera segura en la estructura del contramarco alrededor de la abertura. Asegúrate de que el ensamblaje de la jamba esté a plomo y marca la ubicación de los orificios de montaje con un lápiz. Pon la jamba a un lado y pretaladra donde marcaste los orificios de 1/8". Presiona bien la jamba contra la esquina de la jamba superior.
