Install Reversible Mortise Lock Set – Follow the installation
instructions included with the Reversible Mortise Lock.
With the door open, t the lock-side jamb (B) on to
the entry door molding, along the lock-side edge.
It is important that the top of this jamb is level with
the top of the hinge-side jamb, and that it is plumb.
Once in position, pre-drill a 1/8" hole through one of
the center mounting holes on the inside-edge of the
jamb.Using one of the provided mounting screws (E),
secure the jamb to your molding.
Check again that the tops of the jambs are level, and
the lock-side jamb remains plumb. If needed, have
a helper hold the lock-side jamb in position, and
carefully close the door, checking to see if the latch
is catching properly on the jamb. Also, check that the
gap between the door and the jamb appears equal
from top to bottom. This gap should be approximately
1/8" to 1/4". If necessary, use shims to close the gap
and to ensure that the jamb is plumb.
Pre-drill and install the mounting screws (E) through
all of the mounting holes on the front face of the jamb.
If the jamb remains properly positioned, open the
door and nish pre-drilling and installing the mounting
screws through all of the mounting holes in the jamb.
Important: Read all instructions
completely before beginning installation.

Position door/hinge-side jamb assembly (A) in front of opening,
tting the jamb on to the inside edge of the entry door molding. It
is important that door/hinge-side jamb assembly is positioned level
and plumb; and there is a 3/8" to 1/2" gap between the door and the
molding along the lock-side edge and across the top edge of the door
(see illustration). If necessary, use shims to adjust for these gaps, and
to make the assembly plumb.
Once in position, pre-drill a 1/8" hole through one of the mounting
holes on the front face of the jamb and into your molding. Secure the
assembly to the house using one of the provided mounting screws
(E). Check again that the door remains plumb and gapped properly.
Continue in this manner, pre-drilling and installing the mounting
screws, until all of the screws are installed down the front face of the
jamb.
Open the door. Pre-drill 1/8" holes through the mounting holes on the
