Double Door Installation Instructions
Read all instructions before starting work. Accurate planning is the first step to a successful
installation. It is advisable to have two people for this installation job.

Step 1 – Attach your choice of locksets (with 2 3/8”
backset). Fully extend the lock bolts into the “Locked”
position.
Step 2 Position the secondary door panel (the one
without locksets) in front of the proper side of the
opening at the desired height, making certain that the
door panel is vertically plumb. With a pencil, mark the
location of the holes by marking through the pre-drilled
holes on the hinge jamb. (Fig. 2) Remove the door and
drill the three marked holes using a 3.16” drill bit. Fasten
the secondary door panel to the house using three one-
way lag screws (provided). Tighten the lag screws only
half way at this time, in case adjustment is needed later
in the installation process.
Step 3 With
the secondary door panel in the closed
position, position the primary door panel (the one with
the locksets installed) over the remaining opening with
the extended lock bolts protruding into the respective
holes in the secondary door panel. Position the header
jamb above the two doors with the pegs inserted into the
top of the hinge jamb on each door panel (this will help
to maintain the correct spacing between the two doors).
Make sure the primary door panel is plumb. With a
pencil, mark the location of the holes by marking through
the pre-drilled holes in the hinge jamb and the header
jamb (Fig. 3). Remove the door and header and drill the
five marked holes using a 3/16” drill bit. Fasten the
primary door panel and header to the
house using five
one-way lag screws (provided). Tighten the lag screws
only half way at this time in case adjustment is needed
later in the installation process.

Step 4 – When you are satisfied with the position of the
door panels and the smooth operation of the doors,
tighten all of the lag screws securely.
Step 5 With the secondary door panel in the closed
position, fully extend the upper and lower cane bolts.
Mark the locations on the door frame to be drilled for the
insertion of the cans bolts. Open the secondary panel
and drill holes where marked with a 9/16” drill bit.
Step 6 – Nicks or scratched that occurred during
installation must be touched up with a rust-preventative
paint.
