TROUBLESHOOTING (continued)

Oven temperature
is inaccurate.
Oven capillary bulb not positioned
properly.
Verify that capillary bulb is snapped in
clips straight and not touching sides or
coated with oven cleaner or food.
Temperature control not set properly. Make sure the temperature control knob is
set at the desired temperature.
Improper use of foil. Keep foil clear of holes in oven bottom
and o of oven sides.
Vent blocked. Keep vent on backguard clear.
Range not set for appropriate gas
input.

Smoke/odor
on initial oven
operation
This is normal
Range is not level
Poor installation Place oven rack in centre of oven. Place a
level on the rack. Adjust leveling legs.
Weak or unstable floor Be sure floor is level and can adequately
support range. Contact carpenter to
correct sagging or sloping floor.
Kitchen cabinet misalignment may
make range appear to be unlevel
Be sure cabinets are square and have
sucient room for range clearance.
Contact cabinet maker to correct problem.
Oven smokes
excessively
Meat too close to broiler burner Reposition the broiler pan to provide
more clearance between the meat and the
broiler burner.
Meat not prepared properly Remove excess fat from meat.
