GRAPHICS SOFTWARE SETUP
Section 3-18
Print as a Mirror Image
Mirrors the ENTIRE PAGE from left to right (horizontally). It will not mirror individual objects or
selections. This is very useful for engraving full sheets rubber stamps because the graphics on
screen are non-mirrored and can be proof read easily.
Shoulder
Choose from one of the preset options by clicking the down arrow in the shoulder type dropdown list and
selecting the type of shoulder you desire. These preset options are not adjustable but you can them as a

and the power setting for each step. The surface of the material is considered the first step and the
bottom of the engraving is considered the last step. You can define as many as 16 steps but the first
or the last steps are not definable because they are fixed at a power setting of 0% and 100%
respectively. You can only define the parameters for the steps in between the first and last steps in
which there are 14 of them. By adjusting the power setting for each step, the width in (.001) inches
for each step, and the number of steps, different shoulder profiles can be created.
NOTE: The maximum shoulder width is .056 inches.

Tuning Tab
As part of initial setup and also normal maintenance, the laser system must be periodically adjusted in
order to obtain the highest quality laser cutting and engraving. The settings in this tab allow several
different types of tuning adjustments.
Machine Tuning Wizard
Once you understand how to operate the laser system, you should perform the Machine Tuning Wizard.
From then on, tune only when necessary. Rotary Rotation and Vector Scaling should only be adjusted if
necessary.
Tune
This tuning procedure will mechanically align the left-to-right and the right-to-left raster strokes. For
this procedure, you will need a piece of scrap material that is at least 4 inches square. Use a material
that doesn’t require high power to engrave and that you can run at 100% Speed such as anodized
aluminum, coated brass, or micro-surfaced engravers plastic. Clicking on the TUNE button will start
the wizard, which will guide you through the process.
