Quick Set-Up The instructions below and on the next page can be used to quickly install your new ONE FOR ALL. You can use the Quick Set-Up below with the codes listed on pages 11-23. If this doesn’t work, try the Quick Search on the next page. The Quick Search can also be used even if your brand is not listed at all. Installing the Batteries Your ONE FOR ALL 4 Digital needs 2 new “AA/LR6” alkaline batteries. 1 Remove the battery cover from the back of your ONE FOR ALL 4 Digital by pressing down on the tab. 2 Match the batteries to the + and - marks inside the battery case, then insert the batteries. 3 Press the battery cover back into place.
The Keypad Function Device Keys The TV, VCR, SAT and AUX keys select the home entertainment device to be controlled. For example pressing the TV key allows the remote to control the functions of your Television, after pressing VCR you can operate your Video Recorder or DVD Player and the SAT key operates your Satellite Receiver or Cable Converter. The AUX key only operates a second Television, Video Recorder or DVD Player, Satellite Receiver or Cable Converter.
The Keypad Function Teletext Keys After pressing the TV key, the top row of the VCR keys are used to operate the main teletext functions. The symbols below the keys are for teletext. The text keys are used to access the teletext functions of your Television. Of course, your Television must have teletext capability. TEXT ON Puts the Television in the teletext mode. TEXT ON/OFF Switches the Television back to regular viewing mode.

Installation The Search Method If your Television, Video Recorder or DVD Player, Satellite or Cable Converter does not respond to the ONE FOR ALL 4 Digital after you have tried all the codes listed for your brand, try searching for your code. The Search Method allows you to find the code of your device by scanning through all the codes contained in the memory of the ONE FOR ALL. The Search Method may also work if your brand is not listed at all.
Installation After you have used the Search Method, you can find out which code the ONE FOR ALL responded to by blinking back the code. It is useful to know your code for future reference. Remember, you can only blink back your code after the ONE FOR ALL is operating your device. Advanced Features Scan Your ONE FOR ALL 4 Digital comes with a special SCAN function which lets you “scan” through every Channel available on your Television, Video Recorder or DVD Player, Satellite or Cable Converter. For example, to scan the programmes on your TV: Aim the ONE FOR ALL 4 Digital at your TV. Press the TV key. Press and release MAGIC then press the MUTE key.
Advanced Features Menu If your original remote had MENU control, your ONE FOR ALL 4 Digital will be able to control this feature. To use MENU, find the description below which describes how your original remote navigated through MENU. Original remote used Up, Down, Left and Right: After pressing the MENU key on the ONE FOR ALL 4 Digital, you can use the directional keys to navigate through the MENU screen the same way you did with your original remote control.
Advanced Features Sleeptimer Sleeptimer is a feature which comes built into many TVs and Satellites. It allows you to set your device to turn off within a certain amount of time. This feature is very useful if, for example, you enjoy falling asleep with your television on. With the ONE FOR ALL, there are two ways to use Sleeptimer. If your TV or Satellite came with this feature built in, follow the instructions “Device Sleeptimer” below.
Advanced Features The ONE FOR ALL Sleeptimer Your ONE FOR ALL remote comes with an internal Sleeptimer function for those devices (TV or Satellite) which did not come standard with this function. To use the ONE FOR ALL Sleeptimer, follow the steps below. Making your ONE FOR ALL ready for Sleeptimer: 1 or Press the device key (TV or SAT). Then, press and hold MAGIC until the device key blinks twice (the device key will blink once, then twice). Press 970. The device key will blink twice again.
Advanced Features Using the AUX Key The AUX key on your ONE FOR ALL 4 Digital can only be used to control a second Television, Video Recorder or DVD Player, Satellite Receiver or Cable Converter. Example: To set up the AUX key to control a second TV: 1 Press and hold down the MAGIC key until the device key blinks twice (the device key will blink once, then twice). 2 Press 9 9 2 TV AUX. The device key will blink twice. The AUX is now defined as a TV key.
Advanced Features Changing the mode of a Device Key If you want, you can change any of the device keys (TV, VCR, SAT or AUX) to operate another type of device. The chart below lists how to change the keys and to set up that device.
