Turn out the swing filter and remove the 2.
permanent filter resp. the used filter paper.
Empty the permanent filter resp. throw away
the paper filter with the coffee grounds.
Never immerse the appliance in water or any 3.
other liquid.
The removable parts such as carafe, lid 4.
and permanent filter can be cleaned in
warm soapy water or in the dishwasher (this
may cause some discoloration, which will,
however, not affect the performance of the
coffee maker). We recommend cleaning by
hand.
For easier cleaning the lid of the carafe can 5.
be removed. Hold the lid vertically and then
tilt it towards one side, until the holding
notch releases from the handle. To reinstall
the lid, proceed in reverse order.
CLEANING
Make sure that the plug is connected with 1.
a receptacle and that the appliance is
switched off.
To open the water tank tilt up the lid. Pour 2.
the desired volume of cold water into the
water reservoir and close the lid.
Please note that the water tank has a small 3.
hole at the top, for safety reasons. The
water tank cannot be filled with more than
the maximum capacity of the coffee pot,
so it cannot overflow during the brewing
process.
Please observe the markings and do not 4.
overfill. The labelling on the water container
corresponds to the number of cups (cup
volume approx. 125 ml). Please keep in
mind that a certain portion of the water may
evaporate during brewing.
To open the filter holder, pull the swing filter 5.
out by using the small handle at the upper
left side.
If you prefer to use filter paper (size 1x2) 6.
remove the permanent filter from the filter
holder and place a filter paper into the filter
cone after having folded the lower edge. The
filter paper must not project over the filter
holder.
Fill the desired amount of ground coffee into 7.
the permanent or paper filter, depending on
your taste 5-7 g (approx. 1 measuring spoon)
of medium ground coffee. If the coffee is
ground too fine, the filter may be clogged up
and the coffee may overflow.
Turn the swing filter back until it clicks into 8.
place.
Place the carafe with the lid on the 9.
hotplate.
To start, press the ON/OFF-switch (I/O). The 10.
red pilot light will turn on to indicate that
the coffeemaker is switched on and that
brewing has started.
When the brewing process is finished and 11.
the filter is empty you can remove the
carafe.
You can also remove the carafe during 12.
brewing. The drip stop valve prevents the
coffee from dripping out of the filter. In
this case you should place the carafe on the
hotplate again after having poured out your
coffee to continue brewing and to prevent
the filter from overflowing.
The warming plate keeps on warming as 13.
long as the machine is switched on in order
to keep the remaining coffee warm.
Do not leave the empty glass carafe on the 14.
hot warming plate.
To switch off the coffee machine, press ON/15.
OFF-switch to O. The red pilot light will go
off.
