Setting Airplane mode
When Airplane mode is set, all wireless functions (phone, packet
communication, wireless LAN (Wi-Fi
®
) function, WiMAX function,
Bluetooth
®
function are turned off.

Unmark "Airplane mode" to disable Airplane mode.
You can enable Wireless LAN (Wi-Fi

)/Bluetooth

function even though
Airplane mode is ON. Do not use wireless LAN (Wi-F

)/Bluetooth

function in a place where the use of radio waves is prohibited such as
in airplane or hospital.
Turn the power OFF in areas where use of cell phones is prohibited, such
as in airplanes and hospitals.
When Airplane mode is set, you cannot make calls. However, calling 110
(Police), 119 (Fire/Ambulance), 118 (Maritime rescue) is available. After
calling emergency number, Airplane mode is disabled.
When Airplane mode is set, you cannot receive calls. Besides, sending/
receiving mail, communic
ation via wireless LAN (Wi-Fi
®
) function/
Bluetooth
®
function are disabled.
Alternatively, F (over 1 sec.)[Airplane mode] to switch the airplane
mode on or off.
Setting the Silent Mode
Set Silent mode not to inconvenience people around you in a public
space.

Alternatively, F (over 1 sec.)[ ]/[ ]/ [ ] to enable/disable Mute/
Silent mode.
Press r to turn the ringtone down by one level. Decreasing the ringtone
volume sets Mute/Silent mode.
Shutter sound, start/end recording sound of camera are emitted even in
the Silent mode.
If you play to check the settings in the Silent mode, data is played without
sound. For some functions, pressing l/r adjusts the volume.
