HELPFUL TIPS
The receptacle outlet should be within a reasonable
distance of the dishwasher in order for the power cord
to reach without being strained. If necessary, cut a
1-1.5 in. (4 cm) diameter hole in the appropriate cabinet
side wall to allow the new cord to be routed through
to the electrical receptacle in the adjacent cabinet.
Time-delay fuse or circuit breaker is recommended.
It is recommended that a separate circuit serving only
this dishwasher be used.
SAFETY INFORMATION & SPECIFICATIONS
THIS IS A “GROUNDED” DEVICE.
The male plug contains a ground pin and is
only intended for use with a three-pronged
grounded outlet wall receptacle.
This power supply cord is for use with a
125 V AC / 60 Hz, 15 or 20 Amp fused
electrical supply.
1. Remove the access panel and
terminal box cover. Install the
metal strain relief in the hole in
the back of the terminal box.
IMPORTANT: The strain relief
MUST BE USED to prevent the
power cord wires from being
pulled out of the terminal box
accidentally.
1. Loosen terminal plate screw and
remove terminal plate to expose
splice compartment located on
bottom of disposer.
IMPORTANT: DO NOT remove
insulation shield from splice
compartment.
Reach into splice compartment
and extend the black and white disposer wires. Keep nut on
strain relief. Tighten nut on strain relief until nut lays against
the connector shoulder. Screw the strain relief and insert
the power cord. Reach into the splice compartment and
guide the power cord into the splice compartment. Make
sure the power cord is pushed in such that the strain relief

2. Connect the black wire of the
power supply cord to the black
wire in the disposer and white
wire of the power supply cord to
the white wire of the disposer.
Insert wires into twist-on wire
nuts.
Do not pre-twist bare wire. Twist
wire nut clockwise to tighten and gently tug on wires to be
sure both are secured. Wrap connected wire nuts with
electrical tape. Fasten ring terminal on the green ground
wire to the green ground screw (E G) in the splice
compartment. Tighten green ground screw securely. If no
grounding screw is available, cut off the ring terminal on the
green ground wire and 0.5 in. (2.5 cm) off the conductor
jacket to expose the copper strands underneath. Make sure
no copper strands are being cut when cutting the conductor
jacket. Connect the green wire to the green disposer wire
and insert into twist-on wire nut. Twist wire nut clockwise to
tighten and gently tug on wires to be sure both are secure.
IMPORTANT: Make sure the wires are not pinched
under the terminal box cover.
Place all wires inside the splice compartment. Replace
terminal plate and tighten the terminal plate screw.
Reconnect power or plug in disposer.

2. Install the wires of the cord
into the terminal box through
the metal strain relief.
Tighten the clamp of the strain
relief onto the power cord using
a Phillips Screwdriver. Connect
incoming black wire to the black
dishwasher wire and white wire
to the white dishwasher wire.
Insert wires into twist-on wire nuts. Do not pre-twist bare
wire. Twist wire nut clockwise to tighten and gently tug
on wires to be sure both are secured.
Remove the grounding screw and place it through the
ring terminal of the green ground wire on the power cord.
Reattach and tighten the grounding screw. If no
grounding screw is available, cut off the ring terminal on
the green ground wire and 0.5 in. (2.5 cm) off the
conductor jacket to expose the copper strands
underneath. Make sure no copper strands are being cut
when cutting the conductor jacket. Connect the green
wire to the green dishwasher wire and insert into
twist-on wire nut. Twist wire nut clockwise to tighten and
gently tug on wires to be sure both are secure. Replace
the terminal cover.
IMPORTANT: Make sure the wires are not pinched
under the terminal box cover.
Replace the access panel. Make sure dishwasher is
plugged in or cord passed through the hole in the
cabinet before access panel is reinstalled. Reconnect
power and plug in dishwasher.

WARNING
Risk of Electric Shock and Fire Hazard
Keep away from water.
Do not use an extension cord.
Observe all national and local codes and
ordinances for electrical and plumbing instructions.
This appliance must be grounded. In the event of a
malfunction or breakdown, grounding will reduce
the risk of electric shock by providing a path of
least resistance for electric current. The plug must
be inserted into a grounded 3-prong outlet. Do not
modify the plug in any way or use an adapter to
connect the appliance to an ungrounded outlet.
Do not modify the plug provided with the appliance.
If it will not fit the outlet, have a proper outlet
installed by a qualified electrician. Improper
connection of the equipment-grounding conductor
can result in a risk of electric shock. Check with a
qualified electrician or service representative if you
are in doubt whether the appliance is properly
grounded.
Always consult with a licensed, qualified electrician
if you are unsure of anything involved in an
electrical installation.
CHOKING HAZARD
Small parts. Not for children under 3 years.
Disconnect power to the dishwasher and unplug the
dishwasher. Do not reconnect until all steps of
installation are complete.
