INDICATOR LIGHTS/LUCES INDICADORAS
• The “protected” light (RED) should be on when the power switch is turned on. If this light goes out at any time, it
means that your surge protector has served its purpose and protected your equipment, so it should be replaced.
• The “grounded” light (GREEN) should be on when the power switch is turned on. If this light does not come on when
you plug in your surge protector, you may have a ground-wiring problem and you should contact an electrician to
properly ground the outlet. Connecting the surge protector to an improperly grounded outlet will void all warranties.
• The light in the ON/OFF power switch also powers up when the unit is turned on. The surge protector provides
maximum surge protection even if the power switch is in the off position.
• La luz indicadora de "protegido" (ROJA) debe iluminarse al encender el interruptor de encendido. Si en algún momento

The auto shut-off safeguard feature cuts power from the surge protector to the connected equipment in the event of a
catastrophic surge or when the unit has absorbed as much excess energy as it can, thus ensuring that no more
damaging surges get through to the connected equipment.

COAXIAL CABLE CONNECTIONS/CONEXIONES DE CABLES COAXIALES
Instead of running a connection directly from your DSS receiver/TV/VCR/cable box to the
wall jack, you must pass the connection through the protected coax “F” connector on the
surge protector in order to have protection on this line.

Connect your incoming cable/antenna/satellite/broadband modem line to the “IN” coax connector on the surge
protector. Connect the coax cable to the “OUT” coax connector on the surge protector, and then connect the other end
of the coax cable to the “IN” connector of the device you want to protect.

1. Make sure that the protector is plugged into a working AC outlet.

1. Check the coaxial connections, making sure that they are correctly and securely installed.

Plug your surge protector into a grounded outlet only. Find a dry, indoor location that allows all power cords to reach the
surge protector. All connected equipment should be plugged directly into your surge protector. Using an extension cord to
connect the surge protector to the wall outlet will void all warranties.
1. Turn OFF power to the surge protector and to all equipment. Push the “OFF” side of the switch to turn it off. Plug the
surge protector into a properly grounded AC receptacle.
2. Plug in one of the pieces of equipment. Turn the surge protector ON. Turn the equipment ON. Check to see if the
equipment is working correctly. If the equipment is working correctly, continue to plug in and turn on the rest of the
equipment.
If there are any problems in getting the surge protector to work properly, stop and read the troubleshooting section of
these instructions. If you continue to experience any problems, please contact Technical Support toll free at
1-888-445-9955.

1. If you would like to mount the strip (A) to a
wall, create a mounting template by placing
a sheet of paper over the back of the strip
(A) and punching holes in the paper where
the mounting holes are on the back of the
strip (A).

2. Temporarily secure the paper template
(with painter’s tape or another method that
will not harm paint or wall coverings) to the
area where the strip (A) is to be mounted.
Drill two 3/32 in. pilot holes. Remove the
paper template.
