… Safety precautions Children in the home Packaging material (e.g. plastic, polystyrene) can be dangerous for children. Danger of suffocation! Ensure proper supervision and do not allow children to play with the appliance – there is a danger that children could get locked inside.

This extends the main wash time – at the set temperature – and intensifies rinsing. This function is particularly suitable for individuals with an allergy to mites. … Programme overview Steam anti crease Select the steam anti-crease function together with the main programme to minimize creasing at the end of the programme. Steam finishing occurs at the end of the wash programme. The washing is loosened up and steamed at the same time. After steam finishing, the washing is warm and should be immediately hung up to dry – for easy ironing – or tumble dried.
… Programme overview Degree of soiling Select degree of soiling to tailor the wash programme to the degree of soiling of the washing. The setting selected is shown. Setting options: 䡲 Lightly soiled – The wash programme selected is suitable for lightly soiled everyday wear. 䡲 Medium soiled – The wash time of the wash programme selected is extended. 䡲 Heavily soiled – The wash time of the wash programme selected is extended significantly. … Programme overview Additional functions Function / Symbol Delayed start Temperature setting Type of wash Take advantage of cheap-rate electricity (delayed start period of between 1 and 24 hours). During shut-off periods, which are determined by the local electricity supplier, the delayed start time is extended by the length of time the electricity was shut off. This is not shown in the plain text display however.
User settings You can change certain appliance settings to suit your own preferences. Settings can be changed irrespective of whether the appliance door is open or closed, provided no wash programme is running. The procedure is generally the same for all settings. … User settings Rinsing There are 5 different settings for rinsing intensity. 䡲 䡲 䡲 䡲 䡲 More water 0 – Normal water level More water 1 – An extra rinsing cycle is added to the wash programme. More water 2 – After each rinsing cycle the water level rises 1–3 cm. More water 3 – An extra rinsing cycle is added to the wash programme and after each rinsing cycle the water level rises 1–3 cm.
… User settings Childproof lock The childproof lock is to prevent children accidentally starting or stopping a wash programme. When «Childproof lock ON» is activated, a programme can only be started by pressing two buttons simultaneously. Switching the childproof lock ON/OFF A Hold the button depressed for 5 seconds. – Configuration mode appears in the plain text display. A Press the button 2×. – Childproof look OFF appears in the display text display (factory setting).
… User settings Type of wash Special programmes are available for washing with multi-component detergents. First, the desired type of wash has to be selected and saved. Type of wash is set at «Standard» at the factory. The following options are available: 䡲 Bio washing Alkaline detergent and bleach – With bio washing, first the alkaline detergent (from compartment II) is added to the wash and the suds are heated up to 40 °C. Then after around 6 minutes the bleach (from compartment I) is added.
… User settings Spinning The spin speed is preset at 1200 rpm. The spin speed can be changed so that irrespective of which wash programme is selected the washing drum always spins at, for instance, 1600 rpm or no faster than, for instance, 800 rpm. A lower spin speed can be used with all wash programmes. A higher spin speed can only be used with suitable programmes, e.g. whites. Setting maximum spin speed A Hold the button depressed for 5 seconds. – Configuration mode appears in the plain text display.
… User settings Automatic door opener With «Automatic door opener ON», the appliance door opens automatically when the programme ends. With «Automatic door opener OFF», the appliance door remains closed when the programme ends and can be opened by pressing the button. Switching the door opener ON/OFF A Hold the button depressed for 5 seconds. – Configuration mode appears in the plain text display. … User settings Language selection The language version in the plain text display can be changed. The languages available are: German, French, Italian, Rhaeto-Romanic and English. Washing Setting up the appliance A Ensure that the foreign body trap 1 sits properly. 1 1 A Plug the appliance in at the mains or turn the mains switch on. A Turn the water tap on. A Press the 1 0 0 button to open the appliance door.
… Washing Loading the appliance A Load dry washing (max. 5 kg) into the appliance. 䡲 If washing normally soiled whites and coloureds, fill the washing drum. 䡲 If washing heavily soiled whites and coloureds, fill the washing drum ¾ full. 䡲 If washing easy care cotton fabrics, white and coloured synthetic fabrics as well as mixed fabrics, fill the washing drum ½ full. 䡲 If washing delicates, woollens, silk, polyacrylics or net curtains, fill the washing drum ¼ full.
… Washing Adding washing detergent A Pull the detergent dispenser drawer out as far as it will go. Powder detergent If using powder detergent, flap 1 in compartment II must be open. A Lift flap 1 and push back. Liquid detergent If using liquid detergent, flap 1 in compartment II must be closed. A Pull flap 1 to the front and fold down. Do not fill with liquid detergent past the upper mark. Liquid detergent can only be used for the main wash with programmes without a pre-wash.
… Washing Detergent dosage Adding too much detergent could cause excess foaming, giv ing a poor wash result and, in the worst case, causing dam age to the appliance. The amount of detergent required depends on the degree of soiling as well as the wash load, the hardness of the water and the product being used. Dose the detergent accordingly, following the detergent manufacturer’s instructions. The hardness of the water is measured using the French degree of water hardness (°fH).
… Washing Do not fill with fabric conditioner past the «MAX» mark. Do not use fabric conditioner if drying the washing in a tumble dryer. Tumble drying automatically leaves the washing soft and fluffy to the touch. A Push the detergent dispenser draw back in. A Select wash programme. … Washing Programme selection «Tip and go» The main wash programmes can be started at the press of a button. The control system gives all the relevant programme information for the different wash programmes. Select any additional programmes and functions by pressing the relevant buttons. If no other buttons are pressed within the next 20 seconds, the wash programme selected starts automatically.
… Washing Selecting main programme A Close the appliance door. – The indicator lights for the programme selection buttons flash. Once a wash programme has started, it is not possible to skip the «Draining» part of the programme.

… Washing End of programme Loosening up the washing The washing is loosened up before the end of the programme. This takes about 1–2 minutes. If steam anti-crease has been selected, this phase takes around 60 minutes longer so as to prevent further creasing. The washing can be unloaded at any time during the loosening-up phase by pressing the button. With automatic door opener OFF After the programme has finished, display for 20 minutes. … Washing Stop after rinsing and unloading After running a programme with stop after rinsing, the water must first be drained off. Draining with spinning A Press the button 1×. – The washing is spun at the preset speed for the wash programme selected. Draining without spinning A Press the button 2×. When you have finished washing for the day A Turn off the water tap. A Switch off the appliance at the wall switch or pull the plug out of the mains socket.
Care and maintenance Cleaning the appliance Using the correct dosage of detergent will automatically clean the inside of the appliance. Immediately wipe away all traces of detergent from the chrome steel with a soft cloth to avoid staining. Cleaning the detergent dispenser drawer If the correct dosage of detergent is used, the compartments in the detergent dispenser drawer are cleaned by the water flowing in. Wash out the detergent compartments if particularly dirty.
… Care and maintenance Emergency draining The water in the appliance may be hot – scalding hazard! Allow to cool before emergency draining. In the event of a blocked water outlet or drain pump, a malfunction or a power failure, if there is water still in the appliance it must be drained off as follows. … Care and maintenance Cleaning the foreign body trap Regularly clean the foreign body trap 1 of any deposits. The foreign body trap should also be cleaned after washing pet blankets or other wash items that cause a thick build-up of fluff. A Drain off any residual water, see section on 'emergency draining'. Empty and brush out pockets of work overalls worn in the metal industry (metal shavings can damage the washing and cause rust stains).
… Washing tips Curtains If washing curtains made from mixed or man-made fibres: 䡲 䡲 䡲 䡲 䡲 Ask the retailer whether the curtains are machine washable and, if so, at what water temperature. Fill the washing drum only a quarter full. Tie up metal rollers and plastic sliders using an open weave fabric. Use a mild detergent (use sparingly due to foaming). With older, faded curtains, the material is weaker and may be easily damaged if machine washed.

… Technical data Water and energy economy During the first few minutes of a programme running, sensors automatically determine the type and the size of the load being washed. Water levels are then optimally adjusted to the wash load so that only the strict amount of water needed is used. Turbidity sensor In addition to the water and energy economy feature, the amount of water needed is optimized by a turbidity sensor.
Disposal Packaging 䡲 All packaging materials (cardboard, plastic film (PE) and polystyrene (EPS)) are marked accordingly and should, if possible, be collected for recycling and disposed of in an environmentally friendly way.
