area is clear of fi re glass particles as these could
be ingested by small children. Vacuum area after
installation.

7. Some fi reglass may be added on the platform to
cover the edge of the burner and in the space in
front and behind the pilot shield.
NOTE: Ensure the area within the pilot shield is
clear of fi reglass.

2. Install the vermiculite platform on top of the brackets
as indicated. The beveled edge of the platform
goes downward. The edge of the burner protrudes
above the platform. Push the platform as far back as
possible to maximize the air gap behind the burner.
3. Install the glass plate on the platform, the textured
side underneath and the smooth side on top. The
plate is fl ush with the edge of the burner. Like for
the vermiculite platform underneath, push the glass
platform as far back as possible to maximize the air
gap behind the burner.
4. Mix the black and blue fi re glass together.
5. Fill a small container with approximately 3 cups
(750 ml) of mixed fi re glass.
6. Carefully spread the fi reglass on the surface of
burner patting it gently with your hand to form a
single layer to the approximate level of the top edge
of the fl ange around the burner. Do not pour too
much to avoid blocking the burner ports.
