About This Variety: Wisteria Amethyst Falls ( Wisteria frutescens ‘Amethyst Falls’) is a good choice for smaller spaces as
its rate of growth is much slower than the typical Asian wisterias. Blooms on young wood in its first year and is fragrant. Very
adaptable throughout the garden and/or on the patio in a large container. A North American native selection.
Growing Instructions: Dig a hole two times the width of the liner pot. Set top of root ball even with ground level. Combine
planting mix and garden soil. Fill to ground level and tamp down firmly. Water to settle soil. Add layer of mulch to retain
moisture and discourage weeds. Water regularly for the first year, then as needed once established. Feed with a quality
fertilizer following application and frequency instructions, typically just before and during the bloom season.
Care Tip: Can even be used as a ground cover. Under plant it with other shrubs and/or evergreens like Hydrangea and Butterfly
bush. More often trained to grow up trellises and structures.
