3.9 Working with Breaker Test Plans
A breaker test plan is comprised of all circuit-breaker performance specifications (stroke,
velocity, and contact time). Following is a typical list of operating parameters contained in a test
plan:
Maximum and minimum Contact Trip Time
Maximum and minimum Contact Close Time
Maximum Contact Spread Time
Maximum and minimum Resistor On Time
Maximum and minimum Stroke
Maximum and minimum Trip/Close Velocity
Maximum and minimum Over Travel (Open/Close)
Maximum and minimum Bounce Back (Open/Close)
Trip Analysis Points
Close Analysis Points
Circuit breaker test plans can be created on a PC using the included VCBA software (please see
the VCBA Software Manual for further information). Test plans can then be transferred from
the PC to the DigiTMR via the RS-232C interface. The DigiTMR can store up to 99 circuit breaker
test plans in its Flash EEPROM.
By recalling a test plan before testing, the user does not have to set analysis points to calculate
the Trip or Close velocity of the circuit breaker contacts. Since the test plan contains the
breaker test parameters, the test report will also display the “Pass” or “Fail” status for each
parameter tested based on comparing the test results with the parameters in the test plan. A
typical test report with “Pass” or “Fail” indicators is shown in Appendix D.
3.9.1. Recalling a Breaker Test Plan
You can recall a test plan to the working memory by using the steps below:

Press the [3] key (SET-UP).
b. The following screen will be displayed:
Press the
[1] key (ANALYSIS POINTS).
