.DESCRIPTION AND USES .
Varathane
®
Triple Thick Polyurethane is a protective top
coat that has been specifically formulated to provide
excellent durability in one coat. It provides excellent
protection against scratches and stains. It features an
advanced spray system that allows you to spray at any
angle, even upside down for those hard to reach areas. A
comfort tip reduces finger fatigue caused by continuous
spraying. Recommended for all interior surfaces; including
furniture, trim, cabinets and more. It is not recommended
for floors or items to be used outdoors.

.PRODUCT APPLICATION .
SURFACE PREPARATION
Surface must be clean, dry, and free from wax, grease
and dust. Sand the area smooth, progressing with
sandpaper 150 to 220 grit. Vacuum surface to remove
dust. Wipe the surface clean with a lint-free cloth.
REFURBISHING Existing finished wood may be
refurbished without complete removal of previous coating.
After using furniture polishes for many years, wood can
absorb contaminants that interfere with Varathane Triple
Thick Polyurethane. The surface must be free from wax,
silicones, oils or other contaminants, thoroughly cleaned
and abraded before applying Varathane Triple Thick
Polyurethane.
STAINING For best results, use Varathane Wood Stains
prior to using Varathane Triple Thick Polyurethane. For
other stains, follow manufacturer’s directions for
application and dry times. Apply Varathane Triple thick
Polyurethane directly over a thoroughly cured stain. Test a
sample for product compatibility.

APPLICATION
Use adequate ventilation at all times. Do not apply in
direct sunlight. Apply at temperatures between 55-90°F
(13-32°C) and the relative humidity is below 85%. Be
careful when applying over white or pastel paints or stains
as discoloration may occur. Test Varathane Polyurethane
in an inconspicuous area before beginning.
Shake the can vigorously before and during use. Use a
drop cloth or newspapers to protect surrounding areas
from spray mist. Apply light mist coats, holding can 10-12”
from the surface. Move the can with a smooth sweeping
motion to avoid runs and sags. For hard to reach areas,
turn the can upside down to spray. Dries to the touch in 1
hour. Let dry overnight before use.
DRY AND RECOAT
Dry and recoat times are based on 70°F and 50% relative
humidity. Allow more time at cooler temperatures. Dries to
touch in 1 hour. Allow 24 hours before full use.
CLEAN UP
Wipe off tip before storing. Clean-up wet paint with mineral
spirits. Properly discard empty container. Do not burn or
place in home trash compactor.
CLOGGING
If the valve clogs, twist and pull off spray tip and rinse in a
solvent such as mineral spirits. Do not insert any object
into the valve opening.
