General information
If the windscreen mists up during damp
weather, set the automatic air conditioning
system as described in "Window demisting
and de -icing"; see page 130.
The electronic air conditioning system
functions most efficien tly when the windows
and sun roof 3 are closed. If the passenger
compa rtment has heated up c onside ra bly
after a long period in direct sunlight, briefly
open the windows and sun roof 3 so that the
heated air can quickly e scape.
To en sure corre ct operation, the openin gs for
the se nsors in the control cluster for the
electronic air conditioning system and
between the a ir outlets in front of the
windscreen must not be obstructed.
When the electronic air conditioning system is
switched on, condensation w ill form and w ill
issue from the underside of the vehicle.
Maintenance
In orde r to en sure continuously efficient
performance of the electronic air conditioning
system it must be switched on once a month
for a few minutes, irrespective of the weather
and time of year, with the cooling (cooling
compressor) operational.
If the electronic air conditioning system is not
functioning in the usual manner: press th e
AUTO and OFF buttons simultaneously for
approx. 5 seconds. The servomotors will be
synchronized, during which time the fan will
temporarily switch off.
If a fault occurs in the electronic air
conditioning system, consult a Vauxhall
Dealership. The system's integral self-
diagnosis facility allows faults to be quickly
re me died.
The pollen filte r with activate d charcoal
coa ting must be re plac ed at the main tenance
intervals specified in the Service Booklet.
Air intake
The air in ta ke – loca ted in th e e ng ine
compartment in front of the windscreen on
the far left as seen from the f ront – must be
ke pt free of leave s, dirt and snow to permit
the entry of air.
The water drainage outlet on the other side of
the vehicle must be free of dirt so that
rainwa ter c an drain away freely.

Do not cove r over the air vents when storing
items in the luggage compartme nt storage
compartments.
