Transmission
After starting the engine, press brake before
selecting a gear. After a gea r has bee n
selected an d brak e h as been released, the
vehicle "cree ps". Neve r operate ac celerat or
and brake at same time .
Once D has been selec ted, the ec onomy
driving programme is operative. Position D is
generally ideal for driving.
If the accelerator pedal is depressed gently
and evenly the transmission will shift into the
fuel- saving gears at an ea rly stage. Ma nual
gear changing is required only in exceptional
cases, such as when au tomatic shifting up is
to be avoided or if additional use is to be
made of the engine brak ing effect.
Select D again as soon as driving conditions
pe rmi t.
Sele ctor l ever positions P, R a nd N
P Park. Rear wheels locked.
Only with vehicle stationary and
hand brake engaged.
R Reverse. To be engaged only with
vehicle stat ionary.
N Neutral.
The selector lever can only be moved from the
P position with the ignition switched on and
the foot brake operate d (selector leve r lock) .
Disregard of these instructions may lead to
injuries or endanger life.
